The Big 12 won multiple tournaments this week and even snapped a very impressive streak.

The Texas Longhorns went to Storrs, Connecticut on Sunday and played to No. 22 UConn Huskies, who were on a 44-game non-conference home winning streak according to TexasSports.com.  The Longhorns got down 4-0 but would take a lead that they didn’t relinquish for quite some time.  The second half was a lot of back-and-forth with several ties and lead changes.  Down 2 with about four seconds left Jonathan Holmes sank a 3 from the corner with two seconds left, giving the Longhorns a slim 55-54 win on the road.  In Texas can keep this up, they may have a shot at knocking Kansas off of their seemingly-eternal pedestal.

Speaking of Kansas, the Jayhawks looked great in Orlando.  After rolling through the Orlando Classic, the Jayhawks ended up with Michigan State in Sunday’s Championship game.  Kansas would pull away just enough at the end to knock off Tom Izzo and the Spartans, 61-56.

Oklahoma State won the MGM Grand Main Event in Las Vegas with wins over Oregon State and in-state rival Tulsa.  TCU won the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic, knocking off Mississippi State in Sunday’s Championship Game.  Oklahoma finished 2nd to No. 2 Wisconsin in the Battle 4 Atlantis on the Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
